Existentialism & Coaching

Everyone has [their] own specific vocation or mission in life;

everyone must carry out a concrete assignment that demands fulfillment;

everyone’s task is unique as is [their] specific opportunity to implement it.

-Viktor E. Frankl

Existential coaching is an emerging type of coaching that helps individuals address their lives and careers by making choices with the goal of seeking to live authentically.

Self-Reflection

People seek out others when they have problems. You receive advice from caregivers, family, friends, colleagues, teachers, mentors – anyone you trust to have your best interest in mind. They often do, but they are biased by their experiences, motivations, and wishes. Ultimately, you know yourself best. Coaching encourages self-reflection so that you may have the tools to make the right choice for you.

Career & Job Changes

Career coaching does not look the same for any two people. It is important to understand your current mindset, past experiences, motivations, and wishes. You may be unsure whether you want to stay on your current path and continue advancing or whether a career change is feasible. Coaching can help you identify parallel paths based on your goals and obstacles.

Accountability

Accountability is the biggest barrier to navigating career mobility, job transitions, and available resources. Coaching relationships hinge on both the coach and the client remaining accountable to the plan. Depending on your needs, we can experiment with using sessions as dedicated work time, assigning homework, sending reminders between sessions, and more.
